Chevy4x4trucks.com :: Techs :: Key Fob Panic Disable

Tools: Small Flathead Screwdriver & Electrical Tape

Time: 5 minutes

Application: Universal

Special Notes: If you don't ever use your panic button and all it is is a nuissance when you accidentally press the button you can easily disable it.

Step 1: Remove the key chain from the key fob
Step 2: Use dime or a flathead screwdriver to pry apart the key fob housing. There is a indent to the right of where the key chain attaches
Step 3: Carefully pull the center electronics and rubber buttons from the housing

 

 

 

Step 4: Slowly peel back the rubber buttons from the circuit board
Step 5: Place a small piece of electrical tape over the sensor where the panic button connects
Step 6: Carefully put the circuit board back in the housing and replace the housing. Test it out and make sure it works
